How to apply for the Studienkolleg?

To apply for a preparatory college, you must do the following.

1. Finish school in your home country and learn German.

In order to study in Germany, you must in any case acquire the higher education entrance qualification in your home country. So you have to finish school. In most cases it doesn't matter which grades you finish with.

You must be able to speak German before you start the Studienkolleg. The level must be at least B1.

2. Obtain conditional admission (“bedingte Zulassung”) to a university

You can apply to a university with your diploma. You will then receive conditional admission with the condition "Studienkolleg/Feststellungsprüfung".

3. Collect and submit documents

A simple copy of the following documents is required:

• registration form

• Copy of the conditional approval

• certified translation of the certificate of higher education entrance qualification

• Certificate of German proficiency

• passport
